Lexus has announced its inaugural performance bodies.
The brand has launched the Lexus RCX and Lexus RLX, and will be launching a number of performance trucks in the future.
Lexus RCY will be the company’s first performance body, and it will be a crossover-style sports car.
The RCX will offer the most powerful version of the Lexo RS with the powertrain to make it a performance powerhouse, while the RLX will come with the same powertrain as the RCY, but with some bodywork upgrades.
In addition to the RCX, Lexus will also be releasing two more performance trucks, the RC2 and RC3.
The RC2 will offer up to a 280 hp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, and its a hybrid that makes use of a carbon-fiber hybrid drivetrain and carbon-composite components.
The Lexus LC is an all-electric vehicle that combines electric motor and electric drivetrain with all-wheel drive.
Finally, Lexuses RC3 will feature an all new suspension system and a rear wing, which is expected to come with a higher torque output than the RC1.
The RY is expected for the 2018 model year.
So far, we have only seen Lexus make a handful of performance cars, and they are mostly limited to two-door sedans.
Now, we know that Lexus is also working on a sports car, and the company has released a teaser for it that we will have more to share on a future date.
Stay tuned for more updates.
